Rock Paper Scissors

As the creator of "Rock Paper Scissors" I aimed to share a spirit of the iconic game within the confines of a visual piece. The light yellow canvas, reminiscent of a sheet of paper, serves as a symbolic stage for the unfolding drama of rock, paper, and scissors. My intention was showcase hand gestures, each telling a story of decision-making, strategy, and chance.

The black pattern on the canvas showcases a meticulous exploration of various hand positions, from open palms to clenched fists, adorned with unique symbols on each finger. I carefully crafted this artwork to evoke a sense of dynamism, with hands arranged in diverse orientations and clusters, creating a fast and playful energy of the game itself.

My choice of a light background and various layers was deliberate, aiming to infuse the painting with a serene atmosphere, allowing the bold black gestures to pop and draw attention. Through "Rock Paper Scissors" I sought to elevate a childhood pastime into a thought-provoking piece of art, inviting viewers to rediscover the joy, strategy, and spontaneity embedded in the universal experience of the rock-paper-scissors game. It is my hope that this painting sparks reflection on the subtle complexities of decision-making and the enduring appeal of simple, yet profound, games.
